School Profiles
Director MBA Programs, Tias Nimbas.
On September 1, 2006, Universiteit Nimbas and Tias Business School joined forces and became Tias Nimbas Business School. Together they have a strong history of providing internationally accredited, high-level academic business education. Both establishments are featured prominently in the Financial Times and Economist (EIU) rankings. Accreditations include NVAO at university (WO) level, AMBA, AACSB and ESRC. They have campuses in Utrecht, Tilburg, Eindhoven and Bonn as well as offices in Berlin and Taipei.
I can explain this quite simply with two words: quality and choice. We offer the quality of a traditional university with a strong academic reputation and the innovative project-based learning approach demanded by business people today. We also have adapted our MBA programs to meet the needs of those who choose not to study full-time.
Absolutely not. Actually, Tias Nimbas has just been placed number 8 in the Financial Times rankings of the "Best Business Schools in Europe". What we offer is choice. Students can choose between part-time or full-time study. They can choose location both within the Netherlands (Tilburg and Utrecht) and internationally (our Bonn MBA in Germany) or from three, separate degree options (British, American and Dutch). Our International Executive MBA offers also an extra dimension in that it provides an option for those already operating in an international business environment. There is also the option of a follow up Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
At Tias Nimbas we believe in project-based learning. Our students tell us they want to be able to apply the knowledge they gain to very real situations in their work lives. We have to be relevant to the needs of business today. We believe that Tias Nimbas MBAs really do enrich and advance the careers of those who complete them. Actually, I think that part-time MBAs have their own intrinsic advantages in that relevancy which is reinforced through the structure of the programs. What you learn and discuss in the programs themselves can even the next day be applied to a work situation. We believe that the added value of an MBA should not just be apparent at the end of a program but should be visible from day one!
Educated people learn by asking questions and are part of a life-long learning process. That's why we believe in continuous questioning and being questioned. For that reason our moto is, "Never Stop Asking".

Bie De Graeve (b.1956), a Flemishspeaking Belgian and resident of Ghent, is currently Director of MBA programs at Tias Nimbas - the newly created merger of Tias Business School and Universiteit Nimbas.
