In 1991, the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) was established to make a difference in a rapidly changing region by developing leaders in Southeastern Europe. Today, AUBG leads most universities in the country in terms of graduates' employment prospects and the incomes they earn, according to the Bulgarian University Ranking System launched by the Ministry of Education. AUBG's mission and tradition of excellence expanded in 2003 to include an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) program, which quickly established itself as a premier program in all of Southeastern Europe.
