The Rouen Normandy MBA, 1 hour from Paris

One of the best features of the Rouen MBA is the way in which students from a variety of cultural and work backgrounds are brought together to share their rich mix of experiences.  We have been able to integrate the knowledge of management and leadership from  quality international academic sources with the practical skills and competences that participants bring to the programme.  This combination challenges the participants to question existing practices and to develop well supported new ways of understanding and carrying out their roles as managers and leaders The programme's unique structure gives students skills and training that goes beyond those in most standard MBA programmes.

The seminar, "Making decision in a world of Uncertainty!" is an excellent example. Student start their seminar at CDG airport Paris, not knowing previously where they are going. Once at the chosen destination the different teams undertake tasks in unknown environments without modern communication support. Developing leadership and stress management skills by day, and relaxing in the evening with feedback sessions and general discussions arising around teamwork, leadership, time management and decision making processes.  Another example is the "Entrepreneurial project" which motivates the students to produce in 5 months a dynamic Business Plan to convince confirmed bankers and business angels to invest in their project.

The Rouen MBA is dedicated to students expecting to manage new business units, whatever the size. The “Entrepreneurial Project” reinforces the different steps from creativity and innovation to marketing and finance. Finally each year a Benedictine monk joins the class to teach "business and ethic" and explains he’s daily task in managing his 70 strong non-monk employees. The seminars main area of study; recruitment, motivation and conflicts, but also about budget and branding of the monastery.

Being a Rouen MBA student is a stimulating and pleasurable experience. It is also challenging as the students bring to the table many years of their own personal business experience from all around the world.  It is important that the change management material is forward-thinking and relevant to a dynamic global business environment. Students aren’t simply immersed in a cross-cultural environment; they are also challenged to adapt their multi-disciplinary experience and see the world of business through an entrepreneurial perspective. The case study material used on the course reflects a major change management phenomenon that needs to be addressed by small, medium, and large organisations across the world.  A significant reference is that the Rouen MBA students become change agents as they tackle these complex, organisational challenges.

Whether the issue is one of understanding strategic buyer investment or analysing international corporate policy, students on the Rouen MBA programme will find a learning environment that challenges them to consider issues in a way that you might have never done before.
