School Profiles
Henley was founded in 1945 and has a wealth of experience in delivering management development to individuals and companies worldwide. It was the first European business school to offer an executive MBA and among the first to develop a distance learning MBA with over 6,ooo students now choosing to study using the Henley e-Learning environment via the Internet. Students also have access to the Henley e-Library, which is an online facility into a wealth of commercial databases offering financial information and search facilities into management topics.
Henley's approach is highly practical and the learning can be applied in the workplace immediately. Our target audience is experienced practising managers, who are typically in their mid 30s and have between 5 and 10 years management experience. We emphasise personal development and help students define their objectives, identify skills gaps and develop personal action plans. Current electives include the Branding, Competitive Intelligence, Corporate Governance, Knowledge Management, Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
Business activities now transcend national boundaries so a vital component of all the Henley programmes is the exchange of culture, ideas and approaches to business. The College positions itself as the business school for ‘practising managers’. The Henley alumni association boasts over 30,000 members with local groups in 20 countries.
