An American MBA on the French Riviera

In addition to its American MBA, the Business Management Institute (iae-Nice) of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is opening a full-time one year program called the Graduate Degree in Business Administration (GDBA), equivalent to a first year MBA program.  The GDBA offers all the general introductory courses found in MBA programs such as Marketing Management, Operations Analysis, Information Systems for Management, and Financial Accounting.
Its target audience includes all persons who have had few or no business-related courses during their studies. It also aims at appealing to those who want to move on to higher management responsibilities within their firm or dream of starting up their own businesses and want to learn business basics. Courses are taught on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays to foster the creation of an intense learning and sharing environment. A 3 to 4 month internship in an English-speaking working environment is required.

Admission requirements: undergraduate degree (Bac+3) and good working knowledge of English.

The Business Management Institute is dedicated to conducting research and providing education in finance and management using pedagogical methods which are particularly adapted to today’s global market expectations. Its mission is likewise to provide future executives with a high quality business education through innovative management methods. Many faculty members are professionals providing hands on knowledge of business practice. Located near Sophia Antipolis, a major technology hub, the Business Management Institute is at the heart of research and innovation in Europe.

The MBA MIB program is a combination of distance learning and in-person instruction designed for working professionals. Created jointly by two forward-thinking public universities, this program provides the opportunity for students to gain an AACSB-accredited American MBA and a European Masters degree at the same time. It is especially appropriate for the global professional who wants to be able to work in multiple cultural environments. The program which consists of ten courses, is taught in English using case methods, lectures, and other progressive instructional techniques. During each of four semesters, students study two courses, beginning with eight weeks of distance learning. Students can follow online lectures at their convenience, engage in online chats and forums involving the professors and the other students. Following the online part of the semester, the students complete one week of intensive instruction in Nice with the professors to gain directly from their knowledge and experience. This use of distance learning and in-person instruction combines the best of both methods to give the student both flexibility and an outstanding educational experience. The ninth course is taught in a similar fashion with distance learning but with the in-person instruction taking place in San Francisco (optionally extendable to four weeks). The tenth course involves preparation of an independent research project that students work on throughout the program at their own location.
