The Oldest Business School in Austria

LIMAK Johannes Kepler University Business School has developed into one of the leading executive management education institutions in Central Europe. As the oldest business school in Austria (founded in 1989) and one of the oldest in Central Europe, for nearly two decades LIMAK has stood for innovation, outstanding quality and internationality as well as application-oriented imparting of practical knowledge and skills

The LIMAK Global Executive MBA Programme is a postgraduate, bilingual, in-service programme in General Management for executives and managers. It offers an integrated, problem focused and international curriculum. The curriculum based on the LIMAK Competence Model enables executives to develop and deepen their professional and social competences and self-management skills in an integrated way. The programme design reflects an academic and practical approach. The faculty is highly qualified; the majority hold doctorates and a significant number of them are professors in their area of research. The programme has a strong focus on implementation into the participant's professional life. A central element to transfer learning results into practise is the master thesis. The master thesis is used to work on a current strategic management challenge of the company of the participant. Usually the master thesis is supported by top management of the participant´s company; this is greatly appreciated by LIMAK as it underlines the practical relevance of the master thesis for the company. However, the master thesis has to cover main general management fields taught during the programme. Supported by the LIMAK programme faculty, participants develop a comprehensive concept to accomplish the challenge selected and usually implement the results of the master thesis in his/her job environment.

The Global Executive MBA programme covers the essential parts of General Management and focuses on the following key aspects: Strategy and Marketing, Controlling, Organisation, Corporate Finance, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Process Management, Strategic Management, Change Management, EU-Governance and Business, Doing Business in China, Self-management, social and intercultural competence
