In 1994, the Simon School at the University of Rochester was the first business school to offer a U.S. MBA degree for executives in Switzerland.  Today, the Rochester-Bern Executive MBA program is still the first choice of leaders looking for an applied general management education of highest quality with an international focus, outstanding customer care, and valuable networking opportunities.

Dual Degree: Without interrupting their careers, teh Rochester-Bern Executive MBA program allows participants to earn an international MBA degree from an accredited, top-ranked U.S. business school (University of Rochester) as well as a national EMBA degree from a distinguished Swiss university (Universität Bern).

People: Students have extensive management experience, work in different industries, and come from all over the world.  Faculty members have outstanding track records and live, teach and consult all over Europe and in the United States.  Throughout the program, participants have several opportunities to work with students of the paralles executive program in the United States.

Format: The program starts once a year in January and takes 18 months.  Courses are held every other Friday and Saturday in Switzerland (Thun).  The curriculum is enriched by an intense summer session at the Simon School in Rochester (6 weeks block) and an educational trip to China (1 week block in Shanghai).  The bi-weekly format is designed for executives who need a schedule compatible with their business responsibilities.

Content: The program offers an integrated approach to thinking about management problems and a thorough understanding of the cross-functional nature of business decisions.  Courses follow a logical sequence proceeding from fundamental tools to strategy considerations.  Participants get all the tools necessary to analyze, design, implement, and manage successful business strategies.

Accreditation/Rankings: The Simon School at the University of Rochester is accredited by AACSB International since 1966.  Financial Times ranks it number 3 in the world for finance and 4 for managerial economics.  Moreover, the Simon School is ranked the top provate U.S. business school for return on investment (ROI) by Bloomberg BusinessWeek.

Costs

The tuition fee of the program is CHF 70,000, expenses amount to CHF 22,000.  Expenses include accommodation and all meals at the Hotel Seepark Thun, accommodation and some meals in Rochester and Shanghai, all required books and materials, examination fees, and the graduation ceremony.  Tuition is to be paid in three installments, pread over three years.
