Aberdeen Business School is one of the leading providers of management and professional, business education in Scotland. It has long established links with industry, commerce and the public sector, which enables the School to develop courses which are innovative, practical and offer the students an exceptional learning experience. The School's reputation is built by providing employers with professional individuals who have the best technical and personal skills and fully prepares graduates for their chosen career.

The MBA has been developed to ensure that it meets the highest international standards and is of direct relevance to the real world. Our approach to the MBA is to help each student achieve the career they deserve, get business and alumni involved and to be a positive force in society. We build your career by building the programme around four key areas:

  • Academic underpinning and Ethical Practice
  • Career and Personal Development
  • Behavioural and Skill Development
  • Industry Engagement
Academically you will develop a toolbox of skills combined with a higher level of critical thinking that will have an immediate impact on your business and will stay with you for the rest of your life. However this is not just about developing new knowledge and ways of thinking we also focus on developing your employability and career skills by improving your communication, written, behavioural, negotiation, networking and leadership skills. This will lead to higher levels of self-confidence, competency and improved strengths and abilities. As an integral part of the course several workshops eg in presentation skills, negotiation skills, networking skills are offered to assist the students in developing their skills in these areas.

Another highlight of the course is the week long leadership and strategy workshop which takes place in May each year. All MBA students в full-time, part-time and online/distance learning are invited to come to Aberdeen to participate and this provides the students with an excellent opportunity to network with other students and with industry representatives and to socialise. The event brings together a number of high impact speakers from academia and industry and contains a mix of academic and practical workshops, each exploring a different aspect of leadership.

The specialist elective courses allow students on both programmes the MBA and the MBA Oil & Gas Management the opportunity to develop their in-depth understanding and management skill base. The choice of electives means that students can tailor their studies to the area most applicable to their career development.

Finally we help you connect through industry engagement with over 40 days of events running each year led by industry, by having a strong student community and through alumni relations.

Whether you are looking to transform your career, take on more responsibility or simply get higher satisfaction from your current position we know our MBA leads to more business experience and career improvement.
