The ACBSP and NCMA-accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) program from UCW will prepare you for success on a global level. You will learn how to take challenging situations in a stride, apply pragmatic solutions to problems and ultimately drive the success of your organization through intelligent decision-making.
MBA Elective Areas
Students may choose electives from a variety of fields, including Human Resources, Financial Management, Digital Marketing, Leadership, Project Management, and Entrepreneurship (see descriptions below). Each elective area consists of carefully designed courses that build specialized knowledge and practical skills, complementing the core MBA curriculum.
Electives are available in Term 3 and Term 4, with prerequisites to ensure students are prepared for advanced coursework. Students are encouraged to select electives based on their career objectives and consult with academic advisors for guidance.
Class profile
UCW brings together students from all over the world, which leads to an enhanced learning environment. Students not only learn from program leaders, but from each other. Students present different insights into topics, depending on their culture and background.
Hybrid Mode Delivery Model
Courses in this MBA program are taught using a hybrid learning model that blends on-campus classes and online guided learning. Each course is scheduled to have 2.5 hours of on-campus classes and 1.5 hours of online guided learning per week during weeks 1–10 of the 12-week term. * Final revisions, examinations and culminating evaluations are completed during weeks 11/12.
The MBA program is also available as a formal online program.
UCW & HRCI Partnership
University Canada West (UCW) has partnered with the HR Certification Institute (HRCI®) to align UCW’s MBA – Human Resources curriculum with HRCI’s competency framework and academic guidelines.
This alignment prepares students and exam takers for the aPHRi (Associate Professional in Human Resources International) and PHRi (Professional in Human Resources International) certification exams, opening valuable opportunities for UCW students and other interested stakeholders and industry partners. UCW is the first academic institution in Canada to receive this type of academic alignment with the global HR association HRCI. UCW is now featured on HRCI’s Higher Education Network page, joining a growing community of universities dedicated to advancing HR excellence through globally recognized certification programs.
