MIT Sloan and Bank Negara (the Central Bank of Malaysia) have collaborated to launch Asia School of Business (ASB) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The flagship program is a 20-month full-time MBA program, which targets extraordinary and unconventional MBA candidates that will benefit from combining the rigor of MIT Sloan with exposure to the exciting business environment in Asia.

Located in Kuala Lumpur, right in the heart of Southeast Asia, Asia School of Business (ASB) is a partnership between MIT Sloan and the Central Bank of Malaysia. This innovative program provides ASB an opportunity to develop the next generation of leaders in the rapidly growing Southeast Asian region. ASB offers a full-time, 20-month MBA program based on the rigor of MIT Sloan's curriculum, with a focus on Asia's dynamic business environment. MIT Sloan and ASB faculty teach in the program, and students take classes in both Kuala Lumpur and in Boston. The ASB curriculum is unique in its use of Action Learning as the core part of the educational process – it comprises roughly a third of the curriculum. ASB targets extraordinary and unconventional candidates and has a special admissions track for those with non-traditional backgrounds.

A core curriculum taught by MIT Sloan faculty and ASB resident faculty at our campus in the heart of Kuala Lumpur Action Learning Projects So far, ASB has worked closely with 83 global companies on 155 action learning projects in 18 countries all over the world

US Trek

A four-week residential program on the MIT Sloan campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in combination with an international “industry trek"

An emphasis on market readiness through immersive project work with corporate partners, as well as an integrated program-long career trek

Student Body

We recruit students globally, and our first two classs were extremely diverse on multiple levels (nationality, gender, years of work experience, industry background, academic background, and personal interests). Our third MBA cohort, starting in August of 2018, adds even more diversity to the ASB classroom, which now includes students from 20 nationalities across 6 continents, with an average of 5 years of work experience. The ASB student body is approximately 40% female and 70% international.
