Running since 1922, the University of Texas McCombs School of Business has, over the course of almost a century, left an indelible mark on US business education. The school is the birthplace of the Venture Labs Investment Competition – the Super Bowl of business plan competitions – which lays claim to being the oldest inter-school venture competition in the world. The McCombs Full-Time MBA program regularly features prominently in various MBA rankings. However, the school refuses to rest on its laurels, with its impressively practical vision being to combine industry-leading teaching excellence with a positive effect on local and global societal challenges.

The Texas MBA Program at the McCombs School of Business offers a top-ranked degree from world-renowned faculty and a network of 97,000+ alumni in over 100 countries across the globe! Centered in beautiful Austin, Texas, currently the #1 U.S. city for Tech Business, McCombs consistently ranks among the top schools for entrepreneurship and career placement. From dynamic experiential learning opportunities to our reputation for academic excellence and groundbreaking research, there are endless reasons the Texas MBA is one of the most sought-after degrees in the world. The McCombs Full-Time MBA program regularly features prominently in various MBA rankings.

The McCombs Full-Time MBA program is structured logically over two years. The first semester consists of core subjects that are designed to give students a world-leading grounding in such areas as business government, marketing and accounting. From the second semester onwards, the course can be tailored to suit each student’s career objectives, with 100 different electives to choose from. On top of this, McCombs offers one-to-one business coaching in order to help students develop practical skills through experienced, tailored advice. There’s also an opportunity to take part in micro-consulting projects, in which teams of students are given a budget and a project manager, then have 10 weeks to produce a report that will serve to help real-life businesses overcome challenges.

This practical, problem-solving focus pays off for McCombs MBA graduates, with average post-graduation salaries at US$117,068, plus an average sign-on bonus of US$28,349. Interestingly, unlike many US business schools who primarily feed into the consulting sector, the largest proportion of McCombs MBA graduates (29%) enter the tech sector. This has much to do with Texas’ rising status as a real rival to Silicon Valley, as well as McCombs’ own connection to venture capital and legacy of innovation. The top recruiters of McCombs MBA graduates also reflect this association with the cutting edge, with the list including such leading tech names as Dell, Apple, Amazon, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft.
