A reimagined MBA
We built our specialist one-year part-time Executive MSc Social Business and Entrepreneurship programme (EMSBE) at LSE to support, what we consider to be, the most important movement in the world – sustainability-driven, impact-driven and purpose-driven action.
We have come to the view that MBAs, governing entirely how we think about starting, funding, and running firms for 70 years, have had a negative influence on the state of the world. They have prioritised shareholder returns over social impact and have minimised the negative effects and extractive practices on the globe.
Making a profit doesn't have to mean compromising on social purpose. Our Executive MSc programme is a reimagined MBA that takes a fresh impact-focused approach to traditional MBA topics. We will teach you the knowledge and skills required of a successful business and social impact leader. You will acquire, whatever issue you face, whatever context that sits in, whatever your organisational form is, the tools to create positive impact.
LSE is a world-leading university dedicated to the social sciences.
We're a global community of people and ideas in the heart of central London. We're a specialist social sciences university, ranking sixth in the world in the QS subject rankings 2024 and first in London in the The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, Guardian Best UK Universities Guide 2024 and, for the 12th year running, by the Complete University Guide 2024.
LSE offers a unique opportunity to study the social sciences in a university institution with a worldwide academic reputation, while enjoying the cultural, social and recreational facilities of one of the world's greatest capital cities.
The Marshall Institute
At the Marshall Institute, we work to improve the impact and effectiveness of private action for public benefit. By private action we mean the activities of philanthropic foundations, social entrepreneurs, charities, NGOs and purpose-driven corporations that seek to create a positive impact in the world.
