The Alberta MBA is a 20-month, full-time program that is rigorous, inspiring, focused, and transformational. Through a blend of lecture, cases, and applied learning, Alberta MBA graduates are equipped with current knowledge and pragmatic, sought-after skills. The program expands your critical thinking skills, leadership and soft-skills development, confidence, understanding of how organizations operate from a holistic perspective, ability to solve complex and multi-faceted business issues, and more!

The Alberta MBA provides students with the opportunity to complete key business fundamental courses and a mix of elective courses, allowing you to tailor your program to fit your interests and career goals. We offer five Career Tracks:

The Career Management Center has a unique career coaching model with a dedicated career coach supporting each student throughout the program. We will take you through the critical elements of the career planning process and self-awareness enlightenment to help you discover the core aspects of your personality, strengths and components that make up your unique brand in order for you to achieve your career goals.


The Alberta MBA attracts strong, mature students who strengthen the learning environment through their rich and diverse backgrounds. Total enrolment in the current study body is roughly 500 students (includes full-time, part-time, Executive MBA and Fort McMurray MBA students). Clubs and Committees within the Alberta MBA play a critical role in enhancing the student experience to the fullest by encouraging students to engage in programming outside of the classroom itself.

Applicants who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, unique backgrounds, the drive and resilience to succeed in academic and professional pursuits, and a high level of self-awareness are prime candidates for the Alberta MBA. No formula is used in admission decision-making. Rather, each candidate is evaluated individually to assess overall compatibility between the applicant and program. In assessing program fit, the following criteria are reviewed:

  • Recognized undergraduate degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 (see international GPA equivalents)
  • Graduate Management Admissions Test/GMAT (preferred) or GRE
  • English Language Proficiency for non-native English speakers (see exemptions)
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate work experience
  • Statement of Intent
  • 2 references
  • 2 interviews (video recorded and over Skype)

The Alberta MBA is an investment in your future. The program offers world class instruction, small class sizes and many opportunities for personal and professional development with tuition that is well below other leading Canadian business schools.

Students are assessed both instructional and non-instructional fees each term. Instructional fees are course-based, while non-instructional fees are term based. For international students, the instructional fee is $2,669.94 per course, and the total program fees are roughly $58,000.
