Participants in the Access MBA Tour will have the unique opportunity to visit the campus of a business school of their choice for free.

The 2019 Access MBA Fall Tour will visit 39 countries on five continents between 28 August and 3 December. The Tour, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, enables business professionals to meet leading international business schools during One-to-One and small group meetings. The One-to-One meetings format gives young professionals the chance to get acquainted with top international MBA programmes throughout the world and find the one that is best suited to take their career to the next level.

Tour the grounds of your favourite business school

The Access MBA Tour will award a free campus visit to an English-speaking business professional who has participated in a One-to-One event anywhere in the world. The winner will be selected in a random draw at the end of the fall tour season. Subsequently, the Access MBA Tour will arrange the visit to a university or business school campus selected by the winner and cover travel and accommodation expenses of up to EUR 1,000.

The free campus visit lottery was introduced by the Access Masters Tour in 2014, enabling Masters applicants to explore graduate schools during their search for the best Masters programme and study destination. So far, tour attendees have experienced a day of student life at institutions such as ESMT Berlin (Germany) and Trinity College (Ireland), and Loughborough University (UK), among others. Now that MBA applicants can participate in the lottery too, they can choose from top business schools in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Making the most of the campus visit

Campus visits bring a lot of value in the postgraduate application process. A business school is best appreciated through direct experience, where aspirants can evaluate its distinguishing features on the spot and determine how well it suits their needs and personality. Prospective students have the chance to tour the grounds, sit in on an information session, talk to students and professors, attend classes, visit the school’s career centre, and take in the general atmosphere. All this can go a long way in helping them find the schools and programmes matching their career objectives.

Visiting a business school does not bind you to apply for admission, nor is it a requirement for admission. However, the campus visit has the potential to greatly enhance your application. The insights you will gain from the visit, along with the personal contact with students, professors and admissions’ officers, will enable you to craft a better letter of motivation or statement of purpose, which are essential for a successful application. Overall, take every opportunity to explore the school; this experience will guide you to the one that suits you best.
